Industrial Site Certification

Alliance Consulting Engineers, Inc., personnel have been instrumental in the initiation and continued growth of the South Carolina Department of Commerce's (SCDOC) Site Certification Program. This program was initiated to provide more educated and up-to-date information on available industrial sites throughout the State of South Carolina.

Alliance Consulting Engineers, Inc., personnel have participated in the certification of thirty-five (35) industrial sites and parks. The preparation of the certification packages includes the preparation and/or compilation of a standardized list of information set by the SCDOC. Information required includes environmental, ecological and geotechnical assessments, and the evaluation and recommendation for utility infrastructures, as well as aerial photography and mapping requirements.

The successful completion and classification of an industrial park under the SCDOC's Site Certification Program will enhance the marketability and visibility of an industrial park/site to potential developers. Having a minimum amount of information available to potentially locating industries will ensure that a particular site will not be omitted from a site selection proceeding due to lack of descriptive characteristics and development potential.
